This project is for the construction of a series of tunnels and pipelines to convey water from the existing hydroelectric power system tunnel near the village of Joun some 30 km south of Beirut to the site of proposed reservoirs at Hadath90 and Hadath125 in south Beirut.

The General Conditions for the proposed project will be the Bank Harmonized Edition of the Conditions of Contract for Construction prepared and copyrighted by the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (Federation lnternationale des lngenieurs‐Conseils, or FIDIC) with specific amendments to suit the project.

The proposed works comprise the following key elements:

- The contractor shall complete all outstanding site investigations to facilitate final design of the pipeline and tunnel;

- A tunnel to convey raw water from Joun to the site of a new water treatment works near the village of Wardaniye; 4,128.41 m.

- A tunnel from the water treatment works to Khalde on the southern outskirts of Beirut with an inverted siphon beneath the Damour valley; 19,735 m.

- A twin pipeline from the end of the tunnel, located in the hillside above Khalde to the coast road where it will connect to existing pipelines. A Flow Distribution Chamber and a Flow Control System are to be provided at this point; 1,966 m.

- A twin pipeline from the coast road at Khalde to the reservoir sites at Hadat 90 and then to Hadat 125; 17,411 m.

-  On the twin pipeline, a connection chamber for feeding another reservoir at Hazmieh90; 7,360 m.

- Permanent access roads.

It is intended that the treatment works at Wardaniye and the reservoir at Hadat90, Hadat125 and Hazmieh90 will be constructed concurrently with this Contract under separate tenders.
The current design has been prepared to APD “Avant-Project Detaillé” level. Detailed design is to be carried out by the contractor and shall include:

- Determination of final route following contractor’s site investigations

- Surge analysis and design as well as pipeline structural design including thrust restraints and bedding detail, and reinforced concrete design

- ln-situ tunnel lining design, steel tunnel lining design, and steel pipe design in open cut trench as well as shaft lining design.

- Overall SCADA with central control station and Fiber optics communication backbone
All supporting calculations and details shall be provided for approval by the Engineer.
A period of 156 weeks is allowed for detailed design and construction. This includes the mobilization period for which a minimum of Ten (10) weeks is allowed.

Greater Beirut Water Supply Project

Rehabilitation of Fnaideq internal roads including pavement milling of 2 cm and overlaying 4 cm.

Earthworks for road construction, drainage channels, culverts, bridges, walls, etc.

Marassi North Beach Protection 

The scope of work comprises the construction of the Marassi Outer Marina breakwaters and quay walls for boat berthing on a cast in-situ underwater – basins depths from 8, 6 and 4 meters complying with all applicable codes, technical standards, building, construction and environmental laws.

Total breakwaters length reach approx. 1,200 linear meters with related core-lock protection fabrication and installation, navigation aids, fenders and bollards etc. Dredging about 500,000 m3 up to 8 meters deep with boats turning circle. 
Quay walls using cast in-situ underwater concrete and sheet piles with submerged breakwaters and beach side protection layer using rock material.

Works also included the manufacture of an articulated floating barge allowing the passage of heavy weight vehicles (up to 250 tons) from one side to the other when needed.

Marassi Outer Marina Break Water

Design and construction of a concrete – cast in situ blocks - quay wall of 120 linear meters at 7 to 9 meters deep. 
Site preparation included excavation and dredging to the required depth, environmental protection, cast in situ of quay wall by means of individual concrete blocks in a U shape, backfilling and finishing with a capping beam and final treated concrete platform. 
Works included street lighting, electrical and sewage systems, fire fighting and CCTV with external interlock pavement areas.
Project was executed in collaboration with design office CHSS- UAE and marine specialist MAR Marine to full satisfaction of local authorities requirement, all delivered on time.

Dubai Customs Creek Quay Wall Construction 

1. The construction of a potable water network with an approximate length of 200 km of transmission and distribution ductile iron and HDPE pipe works of various diameters ranging from 20 mm up to 400 mm.
2. The equipping of three wells in Darine town. Drilling and equipping one 150 m well in ChirHmairine town. Drill Two 400m Test Wells around Halba region. Drill One 300m Test well around Kouikhat area. Drill and test one 150m well around Tel Abbass area.
3. The construction of three water pumping stations; one in Darine village and two in Halba Region; one in Halba city and another in upper Halba area.
4. The construction of four regional water reservoirs in Ghzaile area (4 x 2,000m3), two ground reservoirs (1,000m3 each) in Halba Region, four water towers (300m3 capacity) one in ChirHmairine, two in Khreibeh, one in Nfaiseh and one (100m3 in Darine).
5. The project scope also includes construction of wastewater networks with a length of approximately 65 km of pipework of various diameters up to 600mm.

Construction of Water Supply and Wastewater Project in “Sahel Akkar” – North Lebanon” LOT I.

Design and construction of the Dubai Customs Inspection Facility Bldg. (G+2) with its Control Tower.
Construction of a two floor - 800 m2 (each floor) concrete and masonry building to be used as the customs inspection facility and control tower with separated scanner and conveying system in a separate pre-engineered building for new port.
Land development, provision of a parking area and a connecting road to the existing interlock pavement, bordered with curbstones.
Project was executed in collaboration with design office CHSS- UAE and marine specialist MAR Marine to full satisfaction of local authorities requirement including civil, electrical and mechanical scopes, security and fire fighting systems, all delivered on time.


Dubai Customs Inspection Facility Bldg. (G+2) with Control Tower 

Koura region sewer networks and pumping stations part 1

Mobilization/Demobilization, survey and setting out and site clearance.

Supply and installation of Gravity line; approximately 87 km of U.P.V.C. and concrete pipes, diameters ranging between 200mm and 800mm. As well as supply and installation of pressure lines; approx. 3.16 km of GRP pr Ductile Iron pipes of DN200 to DN600.

Connections to existing pipes and treatment plant. Construction of 4 sewage pumping stations, including Electrical/Mechanical equipment and installation, auxiliary facilities, stand-by generators, including accessories, fuel systems and tanks and control systems.

Supply and erection of pumping stations and related pumps and accessories. As well as testing and commissioning, and operation and maintenance manuals.

Koura Sewer Networks

Rehabilitation works of 2 roads (35 & 50) with built up area about 8,400 m2; provision of base layer of crushed gravel 0/31, carved basalt stones including 7cm sand bed and gutter type CC1 concrete.

Construction of sidewalks: setting, watering and compaction of the platform. Provision of interlocking concrete pavers including sand bed. Supply and installation of type T2 border-curbstones including concrete foundation, equipment markings, vertical signaling, achieving concrete humps, etc…

Gutter buried 70×50 cm including leak testing and connection to existing buried duct. Provision regards collectors EP including grate cleaning, gutter cleaning of existing buried duct.

The construction of a University Complex in Djibouti with a total plot area of 160,500 m2 and built-up area of 30,455 m2

The university works include the construction of the building for Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Languages, Power Administration and Governance office, Documentation Centre, Resource Center/IT Center, Research Center, Entrance porch, Faculty of Science Center, Institute of Technology (IUT), Gymnasium, Housing Function, Local Technical Highways, Sanitation system and Cold water supply and irrigation network through a water treatment plant.

Construction of a Smart High-end Commercial Building that contains a high level of electronic microprocessor based control systems that operates a wide range of services such as lighting, heat, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), power, vertical transportation, fire and life safety and security.

Installation of telecommunication systems for voice, data and video transmission to share information and communicate between themselves. There’s a main electrical panel board & all electrical installation.

Reinforced concrete building designed against seismic earthquake effects. VEC aluminum curtain glass, low E glazed facades. Building treated with waterproof coatings. Underground and outdoor parking space for tenants. Ample parking space around the building are reserved for building visitors. Valet parking and 24 hrs security services.

Land development and construction of concrete and masonry fence that enclose the custodian of Holy Mosques Sports Complex in Djibouti.

Construction of a Sports complex with a Multi-purpose play ground with a Football court and Running Tracks, provided with concrete sitting areas, a Basketball court with a concrete sitting area, a Hand Ball court with a concrete sitting area, Tennis Court and Volleyball Court.

AMEDI Water Supply Project

Construction of main waterline in Bhannes – Nabaa El Assal ; Section 1: Dhour El Choueir – Bqellaiaa – Ouadi El Jamajem transmission line.

Supply and installation of Potable water transmission pipelines; approx. 15,000 lm of Ductile Iron and Steel pipe, diameters 40mm and 600mm. Supply and installation of various types of valves, fittings, accessories, flow meters, connection of the new lines to existing reservoirs.

Construction of reinforced concrete chambers and concrete break tank. Geotechnical investigations and asphalt reinstatement of trenches.

Manufacture and erection of a pre-engineered steel structure building, with insulated panels for walls and roofing used for the parking of three fire trucks and one ambulance.

Jebrayel - Rahbe - Berqayel bypass

- ### Internal Repair:
	Carry out internal redecoration of all areas, including making good/repairing surface cracking. Replacement of water damage finishes including ceilings, internal doors etc… Replacement of all sanitary ware and refurbishment of bathroom finishes.

- ### Repair to Warehouse Roof:
	Repair physical damage to profiled steel sheet roof covering and provide a waterpoof remedial coating system using a Zaidcoat; finished system to provide a 10 years warranty. Provide and install new steel, powder coated steel guttering to all roof runoffs with down pipes.

- ### External Repair:
	Rehabilitation of concrete ramps, steps and loading area; provide and install impact protection to loading dock areas. Provide and install new drainage system to loading dock areas.
    
	Repairs to existing tank cover and provision of vehicle protection barriers. Rehabilitation of spall concrete to window reveals and building corners caused by corrosion of steel reinforcement.
    
	Redecorate all external areas, including rehabilitation/repairing surface cracks. Replacement of the offices external steel doors

- ### Electrical and Water Systems:
	Carry out of full electrical test; undertake repair/rehabilitation of sockets, junction boxes, switches, etc…
    
    Provide and install new fire alarm system with smoke detection, sounders, fire alarm panel and link to repeater panel in the compound security office. Provide new light fittings, sockets and switches to bathrooms of appropriate standard for wet environments.<br><br>
    Provide and install new exhaust fan system to bathrooms.

Djibouti Free Zone

Construction and installation of the first IMS infrasound station IS19 in Djibouti.

Sites preparation and construction of the 40 m2  equipment facility at Arta Observatory as Common Central Recording Facilities (CRF), and access tracks for each of the 9 sites. Concrete foundation and installation of the embedded tower section. In addition to installation of upper section for L3, L5, L6, L8, repeaters and CRF. Inflexibility is another challenge, as well as fixing the lightning attractors, connecting to the grounding system, solar panels base and installation of Antennas.

Ground excavations and backfilling for the vaults, for the radio telemetry towers and fences. Provision and installation of the electrical grounding and lighting protection system. Extension to the present backup power system for the CRF at Arta Observation.

Security fencing and grounding systems were also implemented. A guard facility was also designed and constructed. Solar panels have been installed at each array element and repeater site to provide power to the Commission’s Infra sound Equipment via cables driven into the conduit to the interior of the vault.

Construction of Kousba – Fiaa Water Conveyor

Supply, install and test 8,174 lm of transmission pipelines; diameter 500 mm PN 16 and PN 25 of GRP pipes, as well as 5,096 lm of transmission pipelines; diameter 450 mm PN 16 and PN 25 of GRP pipes, in addition to 14,312 lm of transmission pipelines; diameter ranging between 80 mm and 250 mm of Ductile iron pipes.

Supply, construction and installation of concrete valve chambers with related valves and accessories. As well as the construction of concrete reservoirs.

HARAMOUS Villas

Roads connecting the northern motorway with the Syrian borders: Aabdeh – Qoubet Bshamra road.

Construction of approximately 1.65 Km of road works including 1,049m of cyclopean breakwater with rock armor protection.

Construction of roadways section consisting of coastal dual carriage way with a total pavement width of 19 m separated by a new jersey barrier of 60 cm and where each way consists of 2 lanes 3.25 m and 3.3 m with a shoulder of 1.7 m and inner verge of 30 cm.

Earthworks for road construction, road widening, excavation of unstable material outside right of way, etc.

Site investigation: existing utilities, boreholes, sea bed survey.

Drainage works: reinforced concrete box and pipe culverts.

Relocation of existing utilities with road accessories for signing and marking, and provision of road safety accessories. Along with lighting installations and landscaping.

Other ancillary and associated works including traffic management during construction, reinstatement of roads distributed by the works and tapering to existing roads as necessary.

Abde - Qoubet Bshamra Road

Flowing the high demand on residential apartments and private housing, HOMAN has developed and constructed this project in Amioun town in 2005.

The project consisted of 20 apartments, 200 m2 each with parking and other related facilities; the project also included the erection of 2 private villas 900 m2 each.

High specs materials were used in this project to follow the demand of the clients.

Abde - Homs Exit - Abboudieh

Construction of 7.5 Km, 36.5 Km and 37 Km of highway in a marginal swamp area.

Re-channeling of water for distance approximately 10 km, 18 Km and 26 Km into creeks and rivers, using 1000 mm diameter steel and concrete pipes.

Construction of concrete bridges using pre-stressed and post-tensioned reinforced concrete beams, on piled foundations; the embankment slopes of the bridge approaches and abutments are protected by steel sheet pile retaining walls.

Construction of ring culverts of diameters ranging between 900 mm and 1500 mm, and construction of 1000×2000 mm, 1000×15000 mm and 1200×2200 mm concrete drains with cover slabs for discharge of storm and waste water and curb stones. As well as 3000×3000 mm single cell box culverts.

Construction of temporary bye-passes at the river crossings to enhance uninterrupted flow of traffic during the construction of the bridge.
